Water, Sanitation and Hygiene

The Ambassador’s Fund focused on managing the growing challenges of increasing shortage of drinkable quality water and proper sanitation facilities with the objective to improve existing water systems. Poor drinking water quality and sanitation have led to major outbreaks of waterborne diseases in the past years and millions of people have been affected by them. Projects supported local organizations for community-based projects that combined water system improvements with public education aimed at improving hygiene practices. This is an exclusive Ambassador’s Fund thematic area.
